FAQ

Which faction is the trader Grigory from?
Gunners. The official media kit's trade screenshot identifies Grigory as a Gunners faction trader, with separate Rank and Reputation tracks shown on the buy/sell screen.
Will Scavland add more factions?
Yes — the official roadmap lists new factions among the Act II and Act III plans, alongside new regions, quests, and creatures. Early Access is planned to run roughly 12–24 months, and this directory will be updated as new factions are confirmed.
Which faction should you side with first?
There is no officially documented joining or alignment choice yet. Reputation with all ten factions is tracked from the start through the work you take, so early decisions are about which jobs you accept rather than a one-time pick — consequences will be documented as they are confirmed in the live game.

Scavland’s Zalesye wasteland is contested by ten factions — the power structure the game’s three-act story plays out across, and the parties whose reputation tracks shape who trades with you and who shoots at you. The card grid above is the complete confirmed roster; the rest of this directory tracks what official sources actually say about each group, and where to read deeper on the systems behind them.

What are all 10 factions in Scavland?

The complete roster is confirmed by the game itself: the journal’s Relations tab lists exactly ten entries, each with its own reputation bar. The developers describe the factions as having unique identities and characters, and the count matches the official Early Access messaging — ten at launch, with more planned for later acts (see the update tracker).

The list below is read directly from the Relations tab shown in official gameplay footage — the still captures that same tab in an early journal, before any faction entry is filled in:

The Scavland journal open on the Relations tab — Jobs, Map, and Relations tabs on top, the page itself still blank with a single red marker — official in-game screenshot

For how reputation itself works — the two-layer system, what moves the bars, and what is still unverified — see the factions and reputation guide.

Which faction details are confirmed so far?

Early Access launched on September 4, 2026, and most official material so far describes mechanics rather than faction lore. This table tracks exactly what is confirmed for each group, and it will grow as official detail is published:

Faction Confirmed so far
Gunners Trader Grigory is a Gunners trader (official media kit); Petar’s stall was moved next to his in the Day One Patch and again in 0.6.0
Renegades Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab
Scientists Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab
Commonfolk Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab
Settlers Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab
Church of Resurrection Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab
Falanges Name read from the Relations tab at ~95% confidence — the spelling here follows official text if it ever differs
Anarchists Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab
Thieves Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab
Army Name plus its own reputation bar in the Relations tab

Who are the Gunners?

The Gunners are the one faction with confirmed membership detail: Grigory, the trader shown in the official media kit’s trade screen, is a Gunners faction trader. His buy/sell interface displays separate Rank and Reputation tracks, so what he will sell you is gated by more than money alone.

The Day One Patch (Update 0.5.169) touched the trading scene around him directly: Petar’s stall was relocated next to Grigory’s spot, and trader inventories plus their Rank requirements were rebalanced across the board. Update 0.6.0 went further — five more trading partners entered the official record (Zhivan, Vesna, Volodymyr, Bogdan, and Yefim), every trader’s rank got cheaper in Reputation terms, and Yefim’s own became more expensive. Update 0.7.0 (September 16) fixed an incorrect Trader Rank bonus calculation and set every trader to pay an additional 5% sell value per Rank. For the full trader roster and what each deals in, see the traders guide; for every balance change shipped since launch, the update tracker.

How do you check your faction standing?

Open the journal and switch to the Relations tab (the journal has Jobs, Map, and Relations). Every faction has its own bar there, and the system is officially confirmed as two layers: faction reputation is tracked separately from trader reputation, so your standing with Grigory is not just a copy of your standing with the Gunners.

The confirmed engine for moving any of these bars is work: jobs and contracts list reputation alongside money in their rewards. Absolute numbers per job are still unpublished, but Update 0.6.0 put the first relative tuning on record — Bogdan’s, Vesna’s, Grigory’s, and Yefim’s Fetch Jobs all had their rewards adjusted, and cancelling a job now costs 20% of its Reputation reward. Update 0.7.0 (September 16) kept tuning the same dials: Bogdan’s Fetch Jobs now reward significantly more Reputation (Rat and Rabbit jobs the largest increases), Grigory’s Fetch and Bandit Kill Jobs reward more, and Volodymyr’s jobs now focus on high-quality weapons and dangerous Mutants — the jobs and contracts guide tracks what is verified.

Where will you meet factions in the world?

Everywhere, and often without you. The Life system makes NPCs, factions, and creatures act independently: patrols travel their routes, factions encounter each other, and fights break out whether you are present or not — distant gunfire you investigate after the fact is a signature Scavland moment. Faction territories are spread across a world roughly three times the size of the demo, so whose ground you are standing on matters.

For surviving those encounters, see the combat and stealth guide; for the geography of Zalesye and its territories, the world map overview.

Will more factions be added?

Yes. The official roadmap lists new factions among the Act II and Act III plans, alongside new regions, quests, creatures, and story — and Early Access is slated to run roughly 12–24 months, leaving plenty of room for the roster to grow. This directory is updated as new factions are confirmed, not rumored.
