Scavland Beginner Guide: Getting Started
How to start Scavland: your first scavenging runs from Rhos, jobs and reputation, gear management, and where every beginner system is explained across this wiki.
What should you do first in Scavland?
Start small and come back alive. Scavland rewards cautious runs over heroic ones: loot what you can carry, keep your weapon in good condition, and return to the settlement of Rhos before radiation, mutants, or the Mist end the run early. Every job you complete moves your reputation — the thread that ties the game’s systems together.
Scavland — Early Access Release Date Trailer
The core loop from day one is simple — scavenge, trade, repair, repeat:
- Take a short job from a trader or contractor.
- Scavenge a nearby area, watching your gear’s durability.
- Sell or stash your loot, repair your weapon, and rest.
- Watch your standing grow — and let it guide the work you take next.
How do the game’s systems connect?
Scavland’s systems feed each other, and its Life system means the world does not wait for a newcomer — that distant gunfire you hear on your first run is a fight that happened without you, and the best loot may already be gone. Loot you find in the wasteland becomes crafting material or trader stock; the weapons you customize decide which contracts you can survive; the reputation you build through work is the thread that ties it all together:
- Weapons and attachments: Scavland weapons guide
- Combat, stealth, and takedowns: combat guide
- Jobs, quests, and reputation: jobs and contracts guide
- Navigation, bunkers, and the Mist: Zalesye world map
- Loot, crafting, and traders: crafting and repair guide
