How to recover lost Scavland standing: Repair Standings quests, Raisa's rep reset, trust-farming loops — and the Vulture reputation players report as stuck.

FAQ

Can you reset a hostile faction back to neutral in Scavland?
Sometimes, community-tested. Raisa in the burned slums offers Repair Standings quests that reset hostile standing — the Traditional Chinese guide (September 12) says the Gunners and Bandits are excluded, and a September 15 Steam thread found some other factions' repair quests slow but real. No official text documents the Repair Standings system itself, though Hotfix 0.7.2 (September 16) became the first official patch note to name Raisa — as a Diplomat whose jobs were rebalanced. Since Update 0.8.0 (October 17) there is also one officially documented vector: completing a Job raises your relationship with that faction by +5 (Gunners and Bandits excluded there too) — an official grind, not a reset, and how far it climbs from Enemy rank is not documented.
Is lost reputation permanent?
Not always, but some of it currently is. The same Steam thread that documented successful recovery paths also documented a Vulture reputation no quest would fix — stuck at 2,000+ reputation while still Enemy-ranked. Treat every recovery path as community-tested and expect the system to keep changing across Early Access.
Who buys guns in any condition?
Sasha, per the English early-game guide (September 10, community-tested) — making him the early moneymaker for broken weapon turn-ins worth around 10,000 on their own. The Traditional Chinese guide independently calls Sasha the main income source.
Do Volodymyr's quests hurt other factions?
Yes, by two independent community accounts: the Traditional Chinese guide's comments and the September 15 reputation thread both report that his high-tier parts quests cost standing with other factions. Budget the trade-off before stacking them.
What is the Saving Face trap?
A community-named quest timing hazard: the September 15 thread's author turned in Saving Face before finishing a reputation grind and dropped from Neutral back to Enemies — assuming, wrongly, that the quest was repeatable. Hold rep-repair turn-ins until related grinds are done.

How do you recover lost reputation in Scavland?

Repair Standings quests are the community’s main recovery path — Raisa in the burned slums offers them, and book turn-ins pulled one player from Enemy back to Neutral with the Acolytes. Not everything recovers: the same player documented a Vulture reputation that no quest would fix. Every path below is community-tested or community-reported, with dates.

The system this page repairs is the two-layer one — faction standing and per-trader reputation — described in factions and reputation. The recovery mechanics below were community-documented before any official text touched them: two community guides (English, September 10; Traditional Chinese, September 12) and a September 15 Steam thread whose author documented their own reputation accident in detail. Since then, Hotfix 0.7.2 (September 16) has become the first official patch note to name Raisa and adjust her job chain — noted in context below. Faction names that only community sources use are labeled as such.

What are Repair Standings quests?

Community-named quests that restore hostile standing. The name comes from player reports, not official text — but the mechanic is consistently described across sources: a repeatable or one-time quest that moves a faction from Enemy back up the ladder. Three things are known about how they distribute:

  • Raisa (burned slums, per the Traditional Chinese guide) is the dedicated reset — hostile factions go back to neutral through her, except the Gunners and Bandits, whom she does not cover
  • Rada and Palatine variants exist but are slow, per the September 15 thread — “tough ones taking a hot minute,” with the author unsure whether only Raisa’s quests truly restore Neutral
  • The same thread recovered the Acolytes (a community-used faction name) with two or three book turn-ins — proof the cheap path sometimes exists

Hotfix 0.7.2 (September 16) is the first official patch note to name Raisa — as a Diplomat — and it changed her chain: she can now offer a follow-up job without waiting for the current one to finish, and her jobs were rebalanced with no numbers published. The Repair Standings system itself is still community-documented; treat reports dated September 15 and earlier about how her quests behave as pre-rebalance readings. Update 0.8.0 (October 17) then refocused her jobs outright: they now center on Mutant Hunts and retrieving Letters from containers, and the Kill Big Bear job is gone. Whether her Repair Standings behavior carried through the refocus unchanged is not documented — treat the readings above as pre-0.8.0 as well.

One timing hazard: the thread author turned in the community-named Saving Face quest before finishing a grind and dropped from Neutral back to Enemies, assuming it was repeatable. Finish related grinds before spending repair turn-ins.

How do you farm one trader’s trust quickly?

Daily refresh loops. Mission givers offer three missions at once, refreshing daily with identical types — that reset is what every farming loop below exploits (English guide, September 10, community-tested):

Loop How it works Cost
Vesna buy-back Repeat her buy-back missions to farm trust toward Rank 2 armor ~50,000 net loss reported
Sasha turn-ins He buys guns in any condition — broken shotguns pay ~10,000 Free money, not a cost
Bogdan parts Rat and dog missions pay best for mutant parts Knife ammo only
Nadja resale Best sell prices at Level 3 trust — 80–89% of value Long trust grind first

Timestamp those numbers: the loop figures above are community readings from September 15 — taken before Update 0.7.0 (September 16) officially re-cut trader buy rates (Vesna’s among them) and fixed price calculations. Update 0.8.0 (October 17) then moved against this loop family: traders can no longer be exploited by buying goods and selling them back for profit. The official note kills the profitable arbitrage outright; whether the net-loss trust farms above still work on the 0.8.0 build is unverified. Re-verify in-game before relying on any loop or value.

The counterweight is Volodymyr: his high-tier weapon part quests pay in standing taken from other factions — reported independently by the Traditional Chinese guide’s comments and the September 15 thread. He is the fastest way to need this page. Who sells what at which rank is tabulated in traders; where each of them lives is in locations and traders.

Which reputations are stuck or risky?

The Vultures, as of September 15. The thread author grinding back from −5,000-scale hostility found no Repair Standings path for the Vultures at all — Zhivan’s quests were not enough despite 2,000+ reputation, and whether the fix requires grinding through the whole negative total or a not-yet-available quest stayed unresolved. That is the current honest state: some recoveries are tested, one is documented as stuck, and the rest is unknown.

Two habits lower the odds of needing any of this. Killing friendly NPCs is what drops you to Enemy and locks hubs like the community-named “The Mire” — and since Update 0.8.0 that standing damage needs a witness: harming a faction only lowers your relationship when someone sees it, and that memory resets when you die — while the interface, since patch 0.5.169, warns you first (green reticles on friendlies, no stealth-kills on neutrals; see mutants and creatures). And the quest board’s jobs and contracts system is where both the damage and the repair turn-ins live, so check the journal before shooting anyone who looks wealthy.
