FAQ

Are Scavland bunkers procedurally generated?
Yes. The official overhaul announcement adds procedurally generated underground bunkers, described as bringing a completely different kind of exploration to the game.
Do bunker layouts change in Scavland?
Procedural generation means layouts are generated rather than hand-fixed, keeping bunker runs from becoming memorized checklists. Exact reroll rules will be verified after launch.
Will more bunkers be added to Scavland?
Yes. The official roadmap lists additional underground bunkers and exploration content among planned Early Access updates, alongside Acts II and III.

What are the bunkers in Scavland?

Beneath the surface of Zalesye lie forgotten, procedurally generated underground bunkers. The official pre-launch announcement describes them as bringing “a completely different kind of exploration” to Scavland — where the surface world is handcrafted, the underground generates, so no guide can hand you a fixed floor plan.

Why do bunkers play differently from the surface?

Two systems shape bunker runs:

  • Procedural layouts (officially confirmed) — routes cannot be memorized; every descent asks you to actually navigate.
  • A living underground — under the game’s Life system, an encounter can already be in progress when you descend, generated by the world’s own schedule rather than your footsteps.

How do you prepare for a bunker run?

The developers’ own survival framing applies doubly underground: manage weapon condition through the repair systems, carry medical supplies, and know your exit. Scavland punishes unprepared runs with radiation, creatures, and hostile survivors — and a gun that jams because you skipped maintenance (see the combat guide) is how bunker stories end badly.

Verified bunker mechanics — generation rules, loot tables, depth structure — will be documented after the September 4 Early Access launch, once checked in the live game. For your first steps on the surface, start with the beginner guide.
