FAQ

Is there crafting in Scavland?
Yes. A new crafting system was part of the official pre-launch overhaul, turning scavenged materials into usable equipment and supplies.
Do weapons degrade in Scavland?
Yes. Repair and weapon maintenance systems are confirmed core mechanics — weapon condition degrades with use and must be actively maintained.
How many items does Scavland have?
The official overhaul announcement cites hundreds of new items and equipment pieces added ahead of Early Access, alongside the new crafting and repair systems.

What can you do with items in Scavland?

Three things, and all of them are survival decisions rather than menu busywork:

ActivityWhat it doesWhy it matters
CraftTurn scavenged materials into equipment and suppliesGear you cannot buy cheaply, you build
Repair & maintainRestore weapon and gear condition as it degradesA neglected weapon fails when you need it
TradeSell surplus to traders — a separate trader-reputation track exists alongside factionsFunds the next run — see the reputation guide

The pre-launch overhaul confirmed a new crafting system plus new repair and weapon maintenance systems, along with hundreds of new items and equipment — all rebuilt into a redesigned inventory and crafting UI.

Why does loot matter so much?

Because Scavland is a survival RPG, not a shooter: supplies are scarce, radiation and the Mist punish unprepared runs, and everything you leave behind is a repair you cannot make later. Inventory management was redesigned specifically to make these decisions fast on both PC and handheld — see the release date guide for platform support.

What is still to be verified?

Exact crafting recipes, material costs, repair pricing, and item values are in-game data — they will be documented here only after being verified against the live Early Access build starting September 4. For what you’re maintaining, see the weapons guide; for where the materials come from, the bunkers guide.
